What is an ovi
Ovi was a brand of services and software products from Nokia, a Finnish mobile phone manufacturer. The term "Ovi" means "door" in Finnish, and the idea behind the brand was to provide a centralized platform for Nokia device users to access various services, including online storage, file sharing, music, and apps.
Ovi was launched in 2007 as a way to compete with other digital distribution platforms, such as Apple's App Store and Google Play. The Ovi Store was a key part of the brand, offering a range of apps, games, and other digital content for Nokia devices.
However, in 2011, Nokia announced that it would be transitioning away from the Ovi brand and focusing on Windows-based smartphones instead. The Ovi brand and services were eventually phased out, and the Ovi Store was replaced by the Windows Phone Store.
It's worth noting that while the Ovi brand is no longer in use, Nokia continues to operate in the technology industry, albeit in a significantly different form than during its heyday as a mobile phone manufacturer.
