A shipping exception, as defined by FedEx, refers to any unforeseen event or circumstance that prevents a shipment from being delivered on time. This can include, but is not limited to, weather-related issues, traffic congestion, mechanical breakdowns, and customs clearance delays.
When a shipping exception occurs, FedEx will typically notify the shipper and/or the recipient of the issue and provide an estimated resolution date. In some cases, FedEx may also attempt to re-route the shipment or provide alternative delivery options to minimize delays.
