    EL TITU LO ES: ENTRE SOMBRAS Y FRONTERAS, CON ESTA INFORMACION: Sophia, una jóven mecanógrafa del gobierno revolucionaria. Huye de Rusia hacia Europa tras la muerte de su madre, finalmente llega a Estados Unidos en 1922 y se instala en Nueva York, donde trabaja como traductora para inmigrantes rusos. Posteriormente consigue trabajo como secretaria en una compañía financiera durante los prósperos años 20. Finalmente, en 1936, regresa a Europa como traductora para una organización humanitaria que documenta la situación de refugiados de Italia y Alemania. Ahora se encuentra sumergida en una Europa dividida por el fascismo y el nacismo.
