Phelix is an Aarakocra bard inspired by a cockatiel, but far more extravagant and magical in appearance. His slender avian body is covered in iridescent pastel-green feathers that shimmer subtly in the sunlight. His cheeks are marked with soft pink-orange patches, like fading roses brushed on with careless elegance. From his head rises a tall crest of bright crimson feathers, standing upright like a crown that twitches with every shift of mood – a visible exclamation mark to every sentence. His wings, broad and expressive, are a dazzling gradient of golden yellow with streaks of pale violet along the edges, as if dipped in the sky at dawn. His long tail feathers trail behind him like a painter’s brush, shifting hues from deep amethyst to sparkling turquoise. Around his neck he wears a patchwork mantle stitched from satin ribbons, old song scrolls, and feathers gifted by others – a mobile tapestry of memories and poetry. Small bells and tiny mirror shards hang from the edges of his garments, chiming softly as he moves. He often carries a peculiar flute carved from driftwood and a tiny lyre made from bones and twine, both of which he insists are “instruments of the higher wind.” His eyes gleam with theatrical purpose – part mischief, part misplaced wisdom – and his every movement is grandiose, as if his life is a constant performance meant to impress the gods, the audience, or himself.
