Life in the Shadows: A Halfling's Tale

A halfling lives in a medieval city with heavy stone walls that are heavily guarded by corrupt guards. The city is mostly human, but the slums are home to orcs/humans/gnomes/lizards and humans. Peasants in the slums are not allowed to enter the Diamond District. The Diamond District is a beautiful section of the city reserved for the nobility. The Market District is open to all, but nobles are rarely seen in the Market District in person. In the Market District, there is a job board posted for others, looking for hire. The slums are full of disgusting, lecherous men, and any women who live here have been enslaved or turned into working prostitutes. The slums have only dirt roads and are generally a poorly maintained dump, smelling of piss and shit. The law turns a blind eye to the goings-on in the slums, and there are even a few corrupt guards wandering around to cause chaos in secret.
