Lost in Shadows: A Surreal Descent

This darkness in here I'm falling I have been For a very long Ɵme This spiral I get caught in Eternally downwards I know naught But the shadows In my mind In my head In my heart What heart? A heart, that thrives in the shadows? Mine- It's cold, my skin numb They keep me warm Like all dead things do I'm used to this Another tear falls With me I know this I'll stay here, it's safe here- -Is it safe here- But for how long- Do I keep falling- Forever? But then- A hand one day A pair of scissors and? A doƩed line The shadows? But how- I’m breaking I can break further? I felt myself bruising It's not safe like this- Let me drown- I'll stay here I'll keep breaking But the shadows were sƟll strong But they But it But I But Is this all there really is? I was beckoned I crawled closer, broken- Healing? I turned my head, But the shadows, had all but gone You pulled me Towards your light As if the light was all I'd ever known All along
