When and where it happens: After resecting the choledochal cyst and gallbladder, the surgeon needs to reconnect the bile duct to the intestine so bile can flow normally. To do this, they create a Roux-en-Y loop: A segment of the jejunum (middle part of the small intestine) is cut about 40–60 cm from the stomach. The lower (distal) end is brought up and connected to the hepatic duct (this is the hepaticojejunostomy). Then, the upper (proximal) end of the jejunum (which was left behind) needs to be reconnected to the intestine to restore intestinal flow. This reconnection is the jejuno-jejunal anastomosis—it links the Roux limb back into the main intestinal tract, usually about 40–60 cm below the bile duct connection. make a diagram for me to understand the procedure perfomed easily, side notes are much appreciated
