a book cover - The title is: Satanic Verses of Love - Wicked Twins by Manfred Ayuk - They say twins are a blessing. Some say they are a test. The day they came for me, dawn hadn't yet cracked open, The compound gates clanged, and men in plain clothes poured in like shadows summoned by the sun. They didn't ask my name. They already knew it. I was dragged out in silence—no shoes, no dignity, no explanation that would have made sense to the neighbors watching behind their curtains. One of the twins - Ngome, maybe - screamed after them. The other - Nyango - stood barefoot in the alley, whispering something only the ancestors could hear, a chant that carried the weight of the supernatural. And all I could think was: This didn't start with love. It began with a pen. And a girl in a yellow dress. Now, I sit in this concrete cell with more names than I came with: sorcerer, thief, seducer. But none more dangerous than the one I gave myself without knowing: The boy who loved them both.
